Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a robot having a miniaturized joint portion.SOLUTION: An articulated robot 10 includes: a motor 20 that has a gear 42 or a pulley 60 at a tip of a motor shaft 24, and which generates motive power for driving a joint; a speed reducing mechanism 40 for reducing speed of rotation of the gear 42 or the pulley 60 rotating in unison with the motor shaft 24; and a support body 30 that supports the motor 20 and the speed reducing mechanism 40, and which defines an interior space SP for housing the motor 20. In the interior space SP, the support body 30 has a facing surface 32 that spreads perpendicularly to the motor shaft 24, and which faces the motor 20. The facing surface 32 has a groove-like recessed portion 38 being recessed in a direction where the motor shaft 24 protrudes, and the recessed portion extending perpendicularly to the motor shaft 24.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
