PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment and method capable of avoiding continuation of a presence state of a person even if a heating body is determined as a person in error, and making it hard to determine a stationary state of a person as absence in error.SOLUTION: Equipment comprises: an acquisition part 50 which acquires a temperature of a region to be determined from a measuring device measuring the temperature; a detection part 52 which detects whether there is temperature variation within a predetermined time using the acquired temperature; a person determination part 53 which determines where there is a person in the region based upon the temperature acquired by the acquisition part 50 and a detection result of the detection part 52; a measurement part 54 which measures a time for which the person determination part 53 continues to determine that there is a person in the region and the detection part 52 continues to detect no temperature variation; and a change part 55 which changes a length of the certain time that the person determination part 53 refers to based upon history information on the determination result of the person determination part 53, which determines that there is no person in the region once the time measured by the measurement part 54 reaches the certain time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
