Abstract:
To provide an ink jet printer which includes a heater operating with a direct-current power source and can stop the heater when a temperature of the heater exceeds a prescribed temperature.SOLUTION: An ink jet printer includes a heating device 50 for heating a record medium. The heating device 50 includes: a first direct-current power source DC1; a heater 61 that operates with the first direct-current power source DC1; an operation circuit C1 connecting the first direct-current power source DC1 and the heater 61; a second direct-current power source DC2; a relay 73 having a magnetization part 73a and a contact 73b; a control circuit C2 connecting the second direct-current power source DC2 and the magnetization part 73a; and a circuit breaker 62 which is disposed in the control circuit C2 and shuts down the control circuit C2 when a temperature of the heater 61 exceeds a prescribed temperature. The magnetization part 73a operates with the second direct-current power source DC2. The contact 73b is configured to be opened/closed by operation of the magnetization part 73a, and is disposed in the operation circuit C1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
