Abstract:
To provide an intake air cooling system capable of cooling intake air while controlling resistance to an engine due to drive of a compressor.SOLUTION: An intake air cooling system 1 which cools intake air of an engine 120 on a vehicle 100 comprises: an evaporator 35 which is installed in an intake air passage 130a supplying air to a combustion chamber 121 of the engine 120; a compressor 31 which is driven on the basis of rotation of an output shaft of the engine 120 and discharges a coolant; a pressure accumulator 4; and a controller 6. When determining that the vehicle 100 is coasting, the controller 6 drives the compressor 31 with the rotation of the output shaft of the engine 120 along with the rotation of wheels 117 of the vehicle 100 and allows the coolant discharged from the compressor 31 to flow into the pressure accumulator 4 through a coolant passage 2. When determining that the vehicle 100 is not coasting, the controller causes the coolant inside the pressure accumulator 4 to be returned to the coolant passage 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
