Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily detect SS leakage by providing the display device with extension wirings which are disposed on a second layer existing in the upper part of a substrate and are connected to the electrodes of a switching element without intersection with signal wirings.
SOLUTION: This device is provided with the extension wiring 17 which is disposed on the second layer existing in the upper part of the substrate, is connected to the electrode of the switching element 13 and does not intersect with the signal wirings 12. An antenna line 17 always exists between source bus lines 12a and 12b and, therefore, the leakage with this antenna line 17 does not arise and the electrical connection of the source bus lines 12a and 12b does not arise when a conductor pattern 61 remains between the source bus lines 12a and 12b and SS leakage arises within a picture element. The picture element electrode is eventually electrically connected to the source bus line 12a at the point where the SS leakage occurs. This picture element cannot maintain the potential charged into the picture element during the holding time of voltage and, therefore, the picture element is recognized as a spot defect at the display device.
