Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make fine adjustment of a waist gate valve reliable.SOLUTION: A waist gate valve 10 has first and second valve bodies 12, 13 coupled with each other relatively rotatably by a pivotal pin 14, and the second valve body 13 is coupled with a tip of an arm body 16 by a coupling pin 17 parallel to the pivotal pin 14. A base end of the arm body 16 is fixed to an operation shaft 19, and the operation shaft 19 is operated to rotate by an actuator such as an electrically-driven motor. At an initial state of rotating the operation shaft 19, only the second valve body 13 is opened, and then the first valve body 12 is also opened. Even when a gas passage amount is small, gas collectively flows from a narrow portion, and therefore, the valve can be finely and precisely adjusted while the amount of exhaust gas is small. The exhaust gas leaked from a portion of the second valve body 13 flows toward an EGR passage connection port 22 with directivity (orientation). Therefore, an amount of EGR gas can be increased using a dynamic pressure of the exhaust gas.
