Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ionomer having resistance to a radical and a method for manufacturing an electrode catalyst of a fuel cell with the ionomer.SOLUTION: An aromatic polyether having at least one structure represented by the formula (1) in a repeating unit is used for the ionomer for the electrode catalyst of the fuel cell. In the formula (1), Rrepresents a perfluoro alkylene group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, X is selected from a hydrogen atom and a perfluoro alkylene phosphonic acid group having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and Y is selected from -O- and a hydrogen atom.
