To find a loss according to input from a user when a facility is faulty.

An operation support apparatus 10 stores probability information such as a mean and a standard deviation of distribution of remaining lives of facilities, for computing probability that failure occurs in the facility at a certain time point. The operation support apparatus 10 also stores an exchange loss information as information for computing the exchange loss as a loss for the case when the facility is exchanged at a certain time point. The operation support apparatus 10 specifies, for each of predetermined accident costs, an optimum time point where a sum obtained by adding a first cost obtained by multiplying event probability of an accident by an accident cost and a second cost obtained by multiplying the exchange loss by the event probability of the accident is minimum during a prescribed period. The operation support apparatus 10 accepts input at an exchange time point as a time point for exchanging the facility, identifies an optimum time point corresponding to the exchange time point, and registers a failure loss therefor with a facility database 15.
