PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining method of a magnesium alloy and a joint structure of a magnesium alloy that can achieve high joining strength.SOLUTION: An insert material 3 including an LPSO phase is disposed between a first plate 1 consisting of a magnesium alloy and a second plate 2 consisting of a magnesium alloy, and energization is performed to the insert material 3 using an electrode 4.
