Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steep strip joining method in continuous hot rolling, which is capable of easily preventing rupture of a joined part during finish rolling without needing a facility for forming a shape of a joined part end surface.SOLUTION: This steep strip joining method in continuous hot rolling includes: the heating step of oppositely arranging the tail end of a preceding steep strip and the tip of a succeeding steel strip in non-contact on the inlet side of a finish rolling machine on a continuous hot rolling line and inductively heating the tail end of the preceding steep strip and the tip of the succeeding steel strip; and the joining step of butting and pressure-joining the tail end of the preceding steep strip and the tip of the succeeding steel strip heated in the heating step, and is characterized in that a heating frequency f is set to 1.2-500 kHz, and the tail end of the preceding steep strip and the tip of the succeeding steel strip are melted in the heating step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
