The invention relates to a machine for affixing labels to containers, comprising a main conveyor (10) suitable for conveying containers (4) and labels (5), and including conveyor units. Each conveyor unit comprises a base element (2) and a movable body (3) which can move relative to the base element, each conveyor unit also comprising container supports (7). The labels are supplied from a flattened tubular band having at least two folds (51, 52) that are intended to be positioned diametrically opposite one another, said flattened tubular band being cut transversely along a length corresponding to the height (H5) of the desired label. The machine comprises: a label insertion zone (Z1) suitable for associating a heat-shrinkable label (5) with each of the container supports, a zone (Z2) for depositing containers on the supports (7) of the conveyor units, a zone (Z3) allowing the relative movement of each label in relation to its corresponding container, and a shrinkage zone (Z4) for shrinking labels, at least partially, around the containers. In addition, at least one indexing pin (6) is provided on each conveyor unit and around each support, said pin being configured to cooperate with a label fold (51, 52) and thus to determine the precise angular orientation of the label relative to the corresponding container.
