Title:
TEACHING METHOD FOR ARC WELDING ROBOT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2566691
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To greatly simplify the teaching operation of an arc welding robot by welding a welding joint having a welding line obtained calculatively through the arc welding robot.
CONSTITUTION: A sensor 22 is mounted at the operation end of the arc welding robot to detect two planes A, B composing an arc welding joint. When these two planes A, B are detected it is possible to calculatively obtain the welding line 8 of the welding joint through which the two planes intesect each other. Arc welding can be performed along the welding line 8 obtained in this way. Accordingly, the teaching operation to the robot can be simplified. When the joint shape is detected in this way, thereafter, the posture of the welding torch 22 and the welding condition can be determined unequivocally in advance by a computer program and so on and the teaching operation can be simplified.
