Abstract:
SOLUTION: A lead-acid battery comprises: a positive electrode plate; a negative electrode plate; and an electrolyte. The negative electrode plate has a negative electrode material which contains a carbon material and an organic shrink-proofing agent. When an outer specific surface area of the carbon material is Sm2/g, and a content amount of the carbon material in the negative electrode material is Ccn mass%, a content amount Ce (mass%) of the organic shrink-proofing agent in the negative electrode material satisfies the following equation (1): (f(S Ccn)+0.10)≤Ce≤(f(S Ccn)+0.25), and f(S Ccn) satisfies the following equation (2): (-7.3×10-7×S2+0.0010×S)×Ccn≤f(S Ccn)≤(-8.0×10-7×S2+0.0011×S+0.070)×Ccn. The outer specific surface area S of the carbon material is 1.5 m2/g or more and 680 m2/g or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
