Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which is less damaging to leaves of wakame seaweed when the leaves are cut from a stem.SOLUTION: A stem of wakame seaweed is horizontally or approximately horizontally placed sideways, and liquid is poured over at least both or either side of an upper face and a lower face of the stem so that leaves of the wakame seaweed are pushed aside and an area where leaves come out is exposed. While placing a knife or irradiating laser on the area where leaves come out, the wakame seaweed and knife or the wakame seaweed and laser are relatively moved in a longitudinal direction to cut leaves from that area and separate them from the stem.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
