Abstract:

To provide a photodynamic therapeutic agent, harmful organic substance decomposing or removing agent and a photosensitizing substance as an organosynthetic catalyst, having high stability and light-absorption in the visible range and generating singlet oxygen in high quantum yield.

The brominated porphycene derivative generating singlet oxygen in high quantum yield by light irradiation is expressed by formula (1) (in the formula, X1and X2are each a hydrogen atom or a bromine atom provided that X1and X2are not hydrogen atoms at the same time; M is two hydrogen atoms or a palladium atom; and nPr is an n-propyl group).
