Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device in which a dropper circuit enabling an extremely smooth fade operation is used, and in which heat generation in the dropper circuit is suppressed and the occurrence of a flicker is also suppressed even at a low dimming level.SOLUTION: A lighting device 10 includes: a variable voltage source 15; a transistor Q2 which controls a current flowing through a light-emitting element 5; and a control circuit 16 which controls the transistor Q2 such that a current corresponding to a received instruction for a dimming level passes through the light-emitting element 5. When the received instruction instructs a predetermined dimming level or higher, the control circuit 16 controls the variable voltage source 15 such that a voltage drop in the transistor Q2 becomes a first voltage, and when the received instruction instructs a dimming level less than the predetermined dimming level, the control circuit controls the variable voltage source 15 such that the voltage drop in the transistor Q2 becomes a second voltage higher than the first voltage.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
