Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination device capable of efficiently generating fluorescent light and a projector.SOLUTION: The illumination device includes: a light source which emits a beam of excitation light; a base plate which transmits the excitation light; a light condensing optical system that includes an aspheric lens disposed between the light source and the base plate; and a fluorescent substance layer which is disposed at the side opposite to the light condensing optical system on the base plate. The light condensing optical system irradiates the excitation light to the fluorescent substance layer in a state that aberration due to the base plate is alleviated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
