PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission system, a subscriber termination device and an optical signal transmission device, capable of avoiding frame discarding by replay protection between a switchover destination OSU and an ONU at an OSU switchover in PON protection when ensuring data security in a PON section.SOLUTION: In the optical transmission system, the subscriber termination device and the optical signal transmission device, at the switchover of a route from one OSU to another OSU, the other OSU and the ONU reset the counters of the own units before the start of downlink communication and uplink communication.
