Abstract:
To provide a linear motion device which has a shaft and a nut and can hold a state that the nut and the shaft remain stationary even if an external force acts on the nut or the shaft in a state that the nut and the shaft remain stationary.SOLUTION: A linear motion device 1 comprises a shaft 20 and a nut 30 which are screwed to each other, and a support base 40 for supporting the shaft 20. A first irregular part (spline part SP) extending in parallel with a center axial line of the shaft 20 is arranged at an external peripheral face except for a male screw part MS of the shaft 20, a second irregular part fit to the first irregular part is arranged at the support base 40, a magnetic viscous fluid MRF is sealed into a fitting part between the first irregular part and the second irregular part, and a magnetic field generator (electromagnet 70) for generating a magnetic field is arranged at the fitting part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
