PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nematic liquid crystal composition with improved response speed, formed by adding an optically active compound obtained by adjusting twist of an optically active cyclohexane compound to a liquid crystal composition.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal composition is obtained by mixing an optically active compound represented by the following general formula (1) or a mixed optically active compound thereof, and an optically active compound different therefrom in a liquid crystal composition, and by adjusting a pitch length of the twist caused in the liquid crystal composition.SELECTED DRAWING: None
