Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which: an image projection apparatus using a liquid crystal device has difficulty eliminating image blur due to a slow response speed of the liquid crystal device.SOLUTION: There is provided the image projection apparatus comprising: a first liquid crystal device corresponding to first color light; a second liquid crystal device corresponding to second color light having a wavelength shorter than that of the first color light; an illumination optical system that illuminates the first and second liquid crystal devices with light from a light source; and a projection optical system that projects image light from the first and second liquid crystal devices. The first liquid crystal device includes a pair of opposing first substrates and a first liquid crystal layer arranged between the pair of first substrates, and when the wavelength of the first color is λ1, a difference in length between optical paths given to the first color by the first liquid crystal layer is smaller than half the wavelength λ1 of the first color.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
