To provide a liquid separation device and a liquid separation method in which a flow is not dammed up in a flow passage during the liquid separation, all components can flow even after separation, no large equipment is required, once-separated liquid does not flow in the reverse direction, and liquid can be separated at a high speed.
In the liquid separation method, a flow rate distribution is formed inside the very small flow passage forming a laminar flow dominantly by allowing a liquid mixture of at least two components flowing in the flow passage mixed with each other to pass through flow passages 12 of different flow resistances, and a state in which the components of the liquid mixture are distributed and flow correspondingly to the flow rate distribution is formed inside the very small flow passages. Intake ports 131 and 132 are formed in the laminar flow through which the components to be separated flow, and each liquid is extracted and separated from the intake port.
