In the method for producing the lubricant oil composition, the first lubricant base oil of a mineral base oil including 20 to 40 mass% of wholly aromatic component is mixed with an organic molybdenum compound including no sulfur as a constitutional element, the resultant mixture is mixed with the second lubricant base oil including less than 10 mass% of the wholly aromatic component or a mixture of the first and the second lubricant base oils so that the proportion of the first lubricant base oil may become more than 1 mass% based on the total amount of the first and the second lubricant base oils, and further the polycyclic aromatic component after the first and the second lubricant base oils are mixed may become more than 0.01 mass% on the base of the total of mixed base oil. The lubricant composition is obtained by adding phosphoric (or phosphorous) ester or its salt to the mixed product.
