PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting unit having improved efficiency of utilization of light.SOLUTION: A light emitting unit (3) comprises a light emission unit (8) that emits a fluorescence (L2) by the application of a laser beam (L1), and a wavelength selection filter (7) disposed facing the light emission unit (8). The filter (7) reflects the laser beam (L1) toward the light emission unit (8), and also allows the fluorescence (L2) emitted from the light emission unit (8) to pass therethrough.
