Abstract:
To provide a machine component consisting of titanium alloy having an improved surface hardness, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: Outer and inner rings 11 and 12 used as a machine component each consists of titanium alloy and has a surface layer. The surface layers include boride regions 11B and 12B penetrated with boron; the concentrations of boron on the surfaces of the boride regions 11B and 12B are 4 mass% or more and 10 mass% or less; and the surface hardnesses of the boride regions 11B and 12B can be sufficiently improved in this manner.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
