Abstract:
A machine tool (100) having a good processing productivity of a workpiece, and capable of improving a maintenance performance and an operation performance is provided. The machine tool (100) includes two fixed modules (M1, M3) and two movable modules (M2, M4) each of which having a main spindle (11), a headstock (12), and a tool post (13) being integrally formed, and a bed (1) on which these are installed. The movable modules (M2, M4) are provided on the bed (1) to be movable in the Y-axis direction, the fixed modules (M1, M3) are fixed on the bed (1) on the opposite sides of the these movable modules, and a recess (8) is provided next to the fixed module (M3), the recess being formed by cutting out the bed (1). The movable modules (M2, M4) are movable such that the axis lines of the main spindles of the movable modules are aligned with the axis line of the main spindle (11) of the fixed module (M1) or the fixed module (M3). The movable module (M4) is movable to the opposite position (P3) of the recess (8).
