Abstract:
A VTOL aircraft comprising a magnetic orientation detent includes a motor (124a) coupled to a motor shaft (310), the motor (124a) mechanically coupled to a motor mount (320). The magnetic orientation detent may also include a flywheel (330) mechanically coupled to a distal end of the motor shaft (310). The magnetic orientation detent may further include a first plurality of magnets (322a, 322b) coupled to the motor mount (320) and a second plurality of magnets (332a, 332b) coupled to the flywheel (330). The second plurality of magnets (332a, 332b) couple magnetically to the first plurality of magnets (322a, 322b).
