Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing device and a manufacturing method of an intermittently cut optical fiber ribbon, for allowing positioning in a width direction of the optical fiber ribbon and projection in a tape width direction by cutting of a cutting blade when making intermittent cuts between optical fiber lines of the optical fiber ribbon using a cutting roller.SOLUTION: The intermittently cut optical fiber ribbon with intermittent cuts made in a longitudinal direction between adjacent optical fiber core wires of the optical fiber ribbon for which a plurality of optical fiber core wires 2 are arranged in parallel in one column and integrated by a common coating 3 is manufactured. The manufacturing device includes a cutting mechanism for performing cutting while pressing to the optical fiber ribbon and rotating a cutting roller 10 which has flange parts 12 for positioning the width direction of the optical fiber ribbon on both sides of a trunk part 11, and has a non-cutting area and a cutting area where a cutting blade 15 is disposed in a circumferential direction on the outer peripheral surface of the trunk part.
