Abstract:
The present invention provides a canvas for a handrail which has reduced shrinkage in a width direction in manufacturing a moving handrail for a passenger conveyor (or a handrail for a passenger conveyor). The canvas for a handrail includes a base fabric 23 and sliding fabrics 24. The base fabric 23 is woven from first warp yarns 25 and first weft yarns 26. The sliding fabrics 24 are disposed on the base fabric 23. The sliding fabrics 24 partially cover the surface of the base fabric 23. The sliding fabrics 24 are woven from second warp yarns 27 and second weft yarns 28. The second warp yarns 27 have lower friction properties than the first warp yarns 25. The second warp yarns 27 are more prone to wear than the first warp yarns 25. The second weft yarns 28 have a lower thermal shrinkage factor than the first warp yarns 25.
