Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an electrode and a power storage device, in which the charging/discharging cycle characteristics and the rate characteristic are improved and the deterioration caused by, for example, the separation of an active material is suppressed.SOLUTION: An electrode for a power storage device includes a current collector, a first active material layer on the current collector, and a second active material layer containing particle including niobium oxide or a particulate active material on the first active material layer. The use of such an electrode can improve the charging/discharging cycle characteristics and the rate characteristic of the power storage device. Further, by the contact between the particle including niobium oxide and the particulate active material, the particulate active material is physically fixed, so that the deterioration caused by, for example, the particle size reduction due to the expansion or contraction of the active material along with the charging/discharging of the power storage device and the separation from the current collector can be suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
