Abstract:
To provide an improved method for efficiently producing an aromatic polycarbonate from a phenolic compound such as phenol and dimethyl carbonate.
The method for producing the aromatic polycarbonate comprises conducting a reaction between a phenolic compound and dimethyl carbonate while selectively extracting byproduct methanol out of the reaction system using gas separation membrane.
