Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a shaft which can improve abrasion resistance and fatigue strength of a journal part easily without using laser beam irradiation.SOLUTION: A journal part 18 is formed by preparing a material having a journal corresponding part 27 on the outer peripheral surface of a shaft material body as a second shaft material 26 and performing hardening processing to the journal corresponding part 27. In this case, the material having an excessive thickness portion 28 in the journal corresponding part 27 compared with the journal part 18 by enlarging the outer diameter of the journal corresponding part 27 more than the outer diameter of the journal part 18 is prepared as the second shaft material 26, and as the hardening processing, the excessive thickness portion 28 is crushed toward the inner side in the radial direction of the journal corresponding part 27 over the whole periphery of the journal corresponding part 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
