PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method whereby the problems of material yield and the strength of the corner parts of a battery container can be eliminated and the battery container can be manufactured from a flat plate material efficiently.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a battery container (10) of bottomed square type, disclosed here, comprises: the step of forming, from a prepared one first flat plate (20), a first member (20) composed of a rectangular bottom (14) and a first one pair of opposite sides (12), which are one pair of opposite sides of four sides and which are connected to and bent from the bottom; and the step of forming a battery container of bottomed square type by preparing a second flat plate (30) and a third flat plate (40) composing a second one pair of opposite sides different from the first one pair of sides, and by welding the second flat plate and the third flat plate to the first member from one direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
