Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a battery in which the foil multilayer portion of an electrode body and a positive electrode terminal member are welded by resistance-welding while ensuring excellent weld strength therebetween, and to provide a battery in which excellent weld strength is ensured between the foil multilayer portion and the positive electrode terminal member.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a battery 1 including an electrode body 10 having a foil multilayer portion 11 where the foil exposed parts 28f of a positive electrode plate 20 are superposed in the lamination direction DT, and a positive electrode terminal member 60, with the foil multilayer portion and the positive electrode terminal member being superposed in the lamination direction and subjected to resistance welding, includes a foil weld metal zone formation step for forming a foil weld metal zone 12 where the superposed aluminum foils are welded each other in the lamination direction by ultrasonic-welding at the foil multilayer portion, and a resistance-welding step for performing resistance-welding of the foil weld metal zone of the electrode body and the positive electrode terminal member.
