Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a boron-containing pure titanium material capable of forming an ingot into a plate material by hot rolling in an α-phase region without subjecting the ingot to forging or blooming in a β-phase region, and a boron-containing pure titanium material for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell or a dye-sensitized solar cell manufactured by the same.SOLUTION: In this method of manufacturing a boron-containing pure titanium material, a titanium material is made by adding a boron source to sponge titanium or pure titanium scrap, the titanium material is smelted as an ingot in a vacuum arc melting furnace or an electron beam melting furnace, and the ingot is directly subjected to hot rolling in an α-phase region without subjecting the ingot to hot forging. In this boron-containing pure titanium material, chemical constituents are 0.01-0.3 wt.% of boron, ≤0.25 wt.% of oxygen, ≤0.2 wt.% of nitrogen, unavoidable impurities, and titanium as a residual part; and a TiB phase is dispersed in an α-phase substrate of titanium.
