Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a brush for which water drainage is favorable, which can maintain a prescribed degree of suppleness for bristle bundles, and which has a favorable use-sensation; and a brush manufacturing method. Provided is a brush 1 in which bristle bundles 5A are implanted into a synthetic resin head part without using a plate, wherein the brush comprises: a plurality of implant holes 6 which pass through the front surface and the rear surface of the head part; a plurality of bristle bundles 5A which are formed of a plurality of synthetic resin fibers and which are inserted into each of the plurality of implant holes; agglomerate sections 5B which are formed at one end on the head section rear-surface side of each of the bristle bundles that were inserted into the plurality of implant holes, and which are obtained by melting and solidifying the bristle bundles; engagement parts 6a by which the agglomerate sections 5B of the bristle bundles are engaged; and a plurality of bristle bundle fixing sections 7 which are formed by melting and solidifying resin of the head part, which are provided at each of the plurality of implant holes 6, which cover the rear surface side of the agglomerate sections 5B of the bristle bundles 5A engaged by the engagement parts 6a, and which close the implant holes. One of the bristle bundles 5A is fixed in the head section 4 by one of the bristle bundle fixing sections 7.
