Abstract:
To provide a method of producing a cellulose-reinforced resin composition which has extremely low foreign matter content in the resin composition and exhibits high vacuum moldability.SOLUTION: A method of producing a resin composition comprising thermoplastic resin and cellulose comprises, in the stated order, a first step of preparing a dispersion that comprises a dispersion medium containing water as a main constituent and also comprises cellulose dispersed in the dispersion medium, a second step of adding the dispersion to molten thermoplastic resin and melting and kneading the mixture to obtain a kneaded product, and a third step of removing the dispersion medium from the kneaded product obtained in the second step to obtain the resin composition. The addition of the dispersion in the second step is performed at a pressure, the pressure being greater than or equal to the water vapor pressure at the temperature of the molten thermoplastic resin.SELECTED DRAWING: None
