Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method which can reduce steps formed at upper faces and lower faces of a cylinder block and a chain cover, related to the manufacturing method of a chain case which is interposed between the cylinder block and the chain cover.SOLUTION: A cover-side knock pin insertion hole 41 at a chain case 4 is set as a bottomed hole, and a block-side knock pin insertion hole 42 is set as a penetration hole. Then, the knock pin insertion holes 41, 42 are processed from the same direction. By this constitution, the knock pin insertion holes 41, 42 can be processed without being influenced by the wobbling or the like of a processing jig. Accordingly, processing positions of the knock pin insertion holes 41, 42 can obtain sufficient accuracy, and when assembling a cylinder block 2, the chain case 4 and a chain cover 5, steps which are formed at upper faces and lower faces of these members can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
