Abstract:

To provide a cast iron member having improved corrosion resistance to corrosion such as sulfuric acid occurring in an EGR system.SOLUTION: A cast iron member contains carbon of 2.9 mass%-3.7 mass%, silicon of 1.8 mass%-2.8 mass%, manganese of 0.5 mass%-1.0 mass%, phosphorus of 0.05 mass%-0.4 mass%, sulfur of 0.12 mass% or less, and copper of 0.5 mass%-3.0 mass%.
