Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a bentonite molded body in which drying shrinkage is allowed to proceed under drying rate conditions according to particle size of pellets, and to provide a dryer and a drying method.SOLUTION: The production method of a bentonite molded body comprises a drying step where pellets are allowed to dry and shrink by feeding dry air having a low relative humidity into a cylindrical vessel 12 from one end side in the axial direction of the cylindrical vessel 12 and discharging passing air from the other end to outside, while rotating and mixing pellets to be dried, charged inside the cylindrical vessel 12 arranged horizontally, by rotating the vessel around its axis. The drying conditions when drying by the drying step is set so that a drying rate condition for the pellets, v D, becomes 80 or less, where an average size of the pellet and a moisture content are denoted by D (mm) and an actual value, respectively, and a rate of water content decrease, v (1/Hr), is taken as a value calculated by v=(w-w)/t from a drying time, t (Hr), from an initial water content of wto a water content win a course of drying.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7-1
