Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a filament, in which welding of filament strands having a small radius of curvature and serving as a high luminance electron beam source and a diameter reducing process of a thermionic emission part can be simply performed by a single welding work.SOLUTION: The problem can be solved using a filament 11. The filament has two strands 23, 24 and a diameter reduced toward a tip 21a thereof. The tip 21a has a radius of curvature rof 100 μm or less, and the materials of the two strands 23, 24 is the same metal or alloy.
