To provide a method for manufacturing molten zinc at a low cost while preserving the environment by using metal iron powder as not only a reducing agent but also a heat generating source without using a carbon material.
Zinc oxide is mixed with metal iron powder. The obtained mixture is molded to obtain a molding having a predetermined shape. The molding is fed to a high-frequency induction electric furnace and heated. The gaseous zinc generated from the high-frequency induction electric furnace is recovered, introduced into a condenser and cooled in the condenser to obtain molten zinc. Meanwhile, the iron in the molding remaining in the high-frequency induction electric furnace is treated to produce metal iron powder and the produced metal iron powder is reused in the high-frequency induction electric furnace.
