Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for glass hard disk substrates that can restrain worsening of the surface roughness of substrates.SOLUTION: In a manufacturing method for glass hard disk substrates comprising step 1 of polishing glass substrates with a polishing liquid composition, step 2 of polishing the glass substrates obtained at step 1 with an acid washing liquid composition and step 3 of polishing the glass substrates obtained at step 2 with an alkaline washing liquid composition, the acid washing liquid composition contains a copolymer compound containing an acrylic acid-derived constituent unit and a 2-acrylamide-2-methyl propane sulfonic acid-derived constituent unit (component A) and one or more inorganic acid selected from sulfuric acid, nitric acid and phosphoric acid (component B).
