Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably provide a highly purified magnesium having certain enhanced qualities and effective for manufacturing semiconductor elements, etc.SOLUTION: A raw magnesium ingredient having, excluding gas components, a purity of 4 N or below is subjected to a first sublimating purification round of being charged into the melting pot of a sublimating vessel and then heated and sublimated at 500°C to 650°C so as to induce the adhesion (deposition) thereof to the inner side wall of the sublimating vessel and, following the recovery of the magnesium sublimated and purified in this first round, to a second sublimating purification round of being charged, once again, into the melting pot of the sublimating vessel and then heated at a temperature equal to or lower than the melting point (650°C) so as to likewise induce the adhesion (deposition) thereof to the inner side wall of the sublimating vessel, and a magnesium having, excluding gas components, a purity of 5 N or above is then recovered.
