Abstract:
Disclosed are: a hydroxyl radical generator which is capable of efficiently generating hydroxyl radicals; an antiviral material using the hydroxyl radical generator; and a method for generating hydroxyl radicals. Specifically disclosed is a hydroxyl radical generator which is composed of a mixture that contains a titanium oxide powder and a powder or solution of an additive that is compose of at least one substance selected from the group consisting of a partial hydrate of dolomite, silver oxide, aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide, magnesium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide. The mixture contains 99-1% by weight of the titanium oxide and 1-99% by weight of the additive.
