Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium-containing nickel powder which is used in internal electrodes of multilayer ceramic capacitors, has a high thermal shrinkage initiation temperature in measurement of the thermal shrinkage behavior and suppresses expansion after reaching the maximum shrinkage factor in the high-temperature range of 700°C or higher and its production method.SOLUTION: A method of producing a titanium-containing nickel powder includes a crystallization step of crystallizing a nickel powder and a nickel powder production step of causing titanium to be contained in the nickel powder obtained in the crystallization step so as to obtain a titanium-containing nickel powder. In the nickel powder production step, titanium sulfate is added to and mixed with a slurry obtained by mixing a nickel powder with pure water in a mass ratio of nickel powder:pure water:titanium charge quantity of titanium sulfate of 1:30:0.01 to 1:80:0.03 so as to obtain a titanium-containing nickel powder. The average grain size of the titanium-containing nickel powder is 0.05-0.20 μm.
