Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element having a wide viewing angle, a fast response speed of liquid crystal molecules and excellent display characteristics and long-term reliability.SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element includes steps of: (1) using a liquid crystal aligning agent containing a polymer component having a group including a polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond and a group expressed by formula (A1) in the same or different polymers, and forming a coating film of the aligning agent on each conductive film of a pair of substrates each having the conductive film; (2) disposing the pair of substrates having the coating films formed thereon in such a manner that the pair of coating films oppose to each other via a liquid crystal layer, to form a liquid crystal cell; and (3) irradiating the liquid crystal cell with light while a voltage is applied between the conductive films of the pair of substrates.
