Abstract:
A process for producing a lube base oil, comprising a step in which a hydrocracking oil obtained by hydrocracking a feed oil comprising at least one oil selected from a group consisting of vacuum gas oil, topping residues, and vacuum distillation residues is brought into contact with a hydroisomerization catalyst in the presence of molecular hydrogen to obtain a dewaxed oil, a step in which the dewaxed oil is subjected to finish hydrotreating to obtain a hydrotreated oil, and a step in which the hydrotreated oil is distilled to obtain a lube oil fraction, the process being characterized in that the hydroisomerization catalyst includes a support which comprises a burned zeolite (a) and a burned inorganic oxide (b), the burned zeolite (a) being one obtained by heating, at a temperature in the range of 350-450ºC, an ion-exchange zeolite which has not been heated at 350ºC or higher.
