Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic member capable of preventing breakage in an end portion thereof.SOLUTION: The electrophotographic member is an endless belt-shaped electrophotographic member having an endless belt-shaped substrate and a surface layer on an outer surface of the substrate. The surface layer comprises an ionizing radiation crosslinked product of a tetrafluoroethylene-perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether copolymer (PFA); and the surface layer is formed by irradiating a resin layer disposed on the outer surface of the substrate and comprising PFA with electron beams. The surface layer has a universal hardness HU at 200°C satisfying 18 N/mm≤HU≤40 N/mm. A degree of orientation Ri of the PFA in the resin layer in a direction orthogonal to the circumferential direction of the substrate and a degree of orientation Rf of the ionizing radiation crosslinked product of PFA in the surface layer in a direction orthogonal to the circumferential direction of the substrate satisfy a relationship represented by numerical expression (1): Ri×0.8≤Rf≤Ri.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
