Abstract:

To provide a membrane electrode assembly which can suppress lowering of output due to flooding and a method for manufacturing the same, related to the membrane electrode assembly and the method for manufacturing the membrane electrode assembly.

A plurality of CNT 161 which has a tube-like hollow space inside thereof are provided on an electrolyte membrane 12. The CNT 161 is comprised of one carbon nanotube, and one end thereof is embedded in the electrolyte membrane 12, and the other end reaches a GDL base material 222. Thereby electrical connection between the CNT 161 and the GDL base material 222 is assured. Consequently, the assembly can be formed without containing a conductive component in an MPL 221. Thus the water repellency of the MPL 221 is improved, and flooding is prevented without fail.
